BRMS table top exhibit at Burden Arbor Day.

Note: Due to weather the event is rescheduled to Jan 28

Please stop by or join us and Baton Rouge Green to be an arborist for a day!

Plant a tree, enjoy a scavenger hunt, meet Smokey Bear, and more! Your family can learn about native trees, take home a free tree, and plant a tree to watch it grow for generations using your tree’s GPS coordinates in the Burden Woods. All trees planted help to reforest our native trees lost during previous hurricane seasons.

Baton Rouge Green will host their annual tree giveaway at Arbor Day. One giveaway tree per family while supplies last.

The event is free and open to the public! We recommend  visitors wear rubber boots, gloves and dress warmly!

We are also looking for BRMS volunteers to talk to the parents and kids about mushroom. Let us know if you are interested in helping out by registering here.

Baton Rouge Mycological Society (BRMS) is an informal group of people interested in mycology.  BRMS is committed to the promotion of educational and scientific activities related to fungi.  BRMS supports the protection of natural areas and their biological integrity.  We advocate the sustainable use of mushrooms as a resource and endorse responsible mushroom collecting that does not harm the fungi or their habitats.
